Project 13: Lethenty Mill Coffee Table

All the instructions you need to make a solid wood Coffee Table using hand tools and traditional woodworking techniques.

As with the other tables, this is a 'serving suggestion' and can provide the inspiration for a larger version. The kit supplied allows you to make a table measuring 900mm x 500mm.

This is an ideal project for those pieces of exotic or historic wood that you have salted away.


The illustration accompanying the cutting list is of a similar sized version made of local yew - not an easy wood as, in the North East of Scotland, it is usually composed of closely meshed stems which try your patience if you are expecting to work with planks. We bandsawed the top joints in interlocking curves in order to gain as much 'meat' as possible.
