Green Woodworking

Before the advent of machinery (from 1850 onwards) all woodworking was green woodworking!

Our five-day green woodworking course is taught on-site at Lethenty Mill Furniture (under cover of our green woodworking shed, when the Scottish weather dictates!).

The course covers topics such as:

  • Wood from the Tree
  • Tools of the Trade
  • Use & Construction of Pole Lathe
  • Use & Construction of Shaving Horse (and the World of the Spokeshave)
  • Woodturning using the Cast Iron Treadle Lathe
  • Spoon Carving.

Course fees are £400 per person, with a maximum of eight participants on each course.  Lunch and coffee break refreshments are included in the price.  For those who are coming from a distance, we can also supply details of how to get here, local accommodation etc.

We have recently introduced five-day green woodworking courses, which are taught on-site at Lethenty Mill. To find out more about the courses, or our free green woodworking taster sessions, contact Lethenty Mill today.
